Family histories often include events in which people make a sacrifice, hoping that future generations will benefit. Perhaps relatives fled political oppression in their home country or moved to a place where their children and grandchildren were likely to have more opportunities. Perhaps they worked long hours to provide for the family. What stories are there in your family history of personal sacrifice?
Take time to think of all of the different ways you can finish that statement. It could range from ethnicity to gender or sexuality to things that you have done/are a part of (like music, sports, other arts). List as many of the things as you can. When we talk about the Origin Project it's important to remember your own diversity and that your "origins" are not necessarily limited to the place you are from.
Take time to list as many memories as you can. Try to write as many as you can. Some of the first ones that you come up with might be the same memories that you always think of. Try to push past these. List big memories and small memories. Stories, feelings, sights, smells, sounds, tastes, or anything else you can think of. One of these memories could eventually turn into your Origin Project.
